The Essentials
The 2026 Program
Day of AI is a series of lessons that can be taught any time in 2026. This year, students from Kindergarten to Year 12, all across Australia, are invited to participate in a day of creative, fun and hands-on activities to immerse themselves in AI.
Topics cover everything from the basics of what AI is, through to design and creation exercises using AI and understanding the benefits and potential risks.
The activities for Day of AI are designed to be easily delivered by teachers with little to no background in computer science and digital technologies and to be accessible to students of all abilities.
To participate, schools will need an internet connection and at least one laptop per two students. If this is not possible under typical circumstances, contact us for additional support.

Free Teacher PL Sessions
To make it even easier to bring Day of AI Australia into your classroom, we’re offering dedicated professional learning sessions for teachers throughout the year.
These virtual sessions are designed to build your confidence, whether you’re new to AI or ready to dive into delivering the program with your students.
Each session runs on Google Meet and gives you the chance to learn, explore resources, and have your questions answered so you can feel fully supported in the classroom.
There are two sessions available:
Introduction to AI for Teachers (Virtual, 45 mins)
Join us for a short, practical session that unpacks the key concepts of AI and explores its ethical and classroom implications. Designed for primary and secondary teachers (no prior digital technologies expertise needed) this 45-minute session will build your confidence and provide the foundational understanding to support AI literacy in your classroom.
Delivering Day of AI Australia in Your Classroom (Virtual, 45 mins)
This session is designed to empower educators to confidently deliver the Foundations of AI Literacy program with their students. Together, we’ll explore how to access our resources via the Learning Management System, the flexible delivery options (from a single day to a full term), and walk through each lesson and the hands-on activities. The session includes time for Q&A so you leave ready to bring Day of AI Australia to life in your classroom.
